Zdenko Kozul is a 47-year-old Croatian grandmaster who has been representing his country for almost 25 years at the Olympiads, World, and European Championships.
His career best ( ELO ) rating was 2640 in October 2004. He is a Grandmaster since 1989 and also has the title of FIDE Trainer. He took the individual bronze medal on the 3rd board at the Olympiad in Novi Sad in 1990. As a member of Š.K. Bosnia team he won three European Club Cup titles: Bugojno 1999, Neum 2000 and Kalithea 2002. At the World Cup in Tripoli in 2004 he made it to the best 16, to be eliminated against Topalov. His best result he achieved in the Individual European Championship in Kusadasi(Turkey) in 2006, where he became the European Champion.
Zdenko Kozul lives in Zagreb, Croatia and successfully combines playing individual and team tournaments with working as a trainer for the Croatian Chess Federation.
